In an ideal climate situation, the GLXS3BN1810 can usually cover a small house. For this unit to function, an indoor air handler or coil is required, and this unit is cooling only with no heating capacity on its own. 13.4 SEER2 The Goodman GLXS3BN1810 AC condenser is designed to be 13.4 SEER2. This is the lowest efficiency on the market today, making it an inexpensive option for northern states. Please note that this product is regulated by DOE Efficiency Standards. The output of this furnace is 48,000 BTU’s, which is calculated by the input times the 80% efficiency rating. 80% Efficiency Rating With the industry standard efficiency of 80% AFUE, the GMVC80604BN Goodman gas furnace uses 80% of the fuel going into the furnace to heat your home and the remaining 20% of the fuel going into it is used up in normal furnace operations and is lost out of the flue venting. The GMVC80604BN requires metal flue venting like any 80% efficient furnace, while anything 90% and above would require plastic or PVC venting.
